Making Cups from Slabs

Everyone needs an awesome cup (or a dozen) and you can make one without a pottery wheel. I’ll show you how to make a template so you can make as many as you want. We’ll use some stamps to add texture for visual interest but you can leave yours smooth if you’d like. So, let’s get started making some cups.

Basic Pottery Kit (Rib, Sponge, Needle Tool, Trimming Tool, Cutting Wire, Fettling Knife)
Rolling Pin
Thickness Strips
Canvas or Slab Mat to Work On
Template
Block of Upholstery Foam (sofa cushions work great)
Mud Tools Ribs
Dolan 220S Clay Knife (X-acto knives also work great)
Rubber Tip Tool
Banding Wheel
