A Potter’s Book – Bernard Leach

This was the first pottery book I ever coveted. As an undergrad student at UNC I checked out the schools one and only copy and continuously renewed it over the next four years. It was a sad day when I had to return it before graduation. Ever since I have look for one on the second-hand market but they were cost prohibitive until now! I must say the reprinting is lovely with gorgeous full color photos which replace the original black and white images. Such a treat!

Leach shares his pottery journey with us through his experiences in Japan, his friendships, his philosophy, clays, slips, glazes, kilns, firings, surface decoration and much more. This book is a must have for anyone interested in pottery.
