One of the most useful tools I have in my studio is my StickyBat from Ci Products, the folks that make DiamondCore Tools and the Zebra carving tools that I love.
Usually, when trimming a pot you have to attach it to the wheel or bat with lumps of clay. You don’t have to do that when you use the StickyBat. It has a non-slip surface that provides enough grip to hold all but the tallest/thinnest pots in place while you trim. This can save a lot of time if you have a lot of pots to trim. There are pockets in the back of the StickyBat for your wheel’s bat pins to engage so there’s no slipping and the StickyBat is always perfectly aligned to your wheel. I definitely recommend trying one out.
