Making and Using A Chuck

A chuck is a useful tool to have in the pottery studio. I use mine often to trim forms with long necks or delicate rims. This is a good form to practice your throwing skills on and a great shape to use for making composite forms.

Tools & Materials

Pottery Wheel
2-3 lbs of clay (I am using Laguna bmix5 without grog)
Medium red mud tool rib and Wooden rib
Wooden clay knife
Cutting wire
Needle Tool
Sponge
Bucket/bowl for Water
Bat for pottery wheel (optional)
A kiln or access to one
